From the Board Joanne Bialas—President
Rain, rain, and more rain! This summer season has certainly given us a downpour so far. Have you
noticed how high Lake Michaela has gotten in a short amount of time? Poor Sandy (one of our
beloved Sandhill Cranes) had to fight to keep her nest in tact as the water continued to threaten
her eggs. We too are continuing to see and hear more issues with water rising. Rest assured, we
are doing what we can to help with the common areas. If you know of any common area that is
causing flooding issues, please let us know so that we can have it properly checked out. As you
all know, our community is starting to age and a number of “anti-flooding” measures have begun
to also show their signs of aging. Please feel free to email me, firstname.lastname@example.org if you see an
area of concern.
Thank you for your continued support of our community!
Derek Matthews—Vice President 1/ACC
We are fortunate to have very few violations that remain unresolved. If you get a letter from the
HOA about a violation, please review and correct the issue as soon as possible. If there might be
a delay due to an application process, please communicate with the management company per
the notice so we can stay in the loop. A reminder that parking on the streets over night is not
permitted and that cars are to be garaged or parked in your driveway without blocking the sidewalks.
Thank you all for doing your part to keep our community safe and beautiful!
Also, as a reminder, please be sure to submit all of your ACC requests to the board before beginning
work on your homes. There are many guidelines to follow with regards to roofs and paint
colors and many homes are being done. If you need any help, please email email@example.com.

This past quarter we held four events in the neighborhood! Sandy Reed of the Tampa Audubon
Society lead a stroll around the lake highlighting the various species of wildlife (3/24). Matt & Donna
McCarty hosted an electronics recycling drive (4/6). Also, we had Our Annual Easter Egg Hunt (4/20),
the neighborhood garage sale (5/18), and free swim classes (6/17-6/20). All of the events were well
attended. We have a couple of events coming up in the fall, the Art in the Park Saturday 9/14 and a
Scary Movie under the Stars on Friday10/25. It would be wonderful to have more volunteers to help
at the events and to give ideas of what kind of events they might like. All of these events are free to
residents but some are better attended than others. Please email Vice-Pres2@tlbhoa.org to help and
volunteer. Hope you are enjoying what we have planned and hope to hear from you in the future!
Art in the Park is an arts and crafts show that is held in Zeina Park usually in September. We have had
arts and crafts vendors from all over the area along with ballet dancing and various food vendors as
well as crafters. The show usually has everything from jewelry to henna tattoos to engraved items for
gifts and everything in between. Last year we had free food, a wonderful DJ and many vendors. What
we did not have were many people attending the festivities. It is difficult to get crafters to come as
there are many others to choose from. If we do not have enough people attending, we may not be
able to continue the tradition. Bring your families. Ask your friends. Y ou can participate as a TLB
resident for free (non-residents pay $15). Just bring a table or tent and your art or craft. Put it on
your calendar now, September 14 from 10:00 to 2:00. We hope to see you all there and hope you
all can help us SAVE ART IN THE PARK!

Hello Twin Lakes’ neighbors. Please see my article on page 8 regarding waste in our community.
You have probably noticed that over the last several months we have done a lot of work on the
pool. There was an issue that needed to be corrected and now that it has been, we can concentrate
on the rest of the pool area. We will be fixing and replacing items in the restrooms, as well
as painting the entire area and repairing or purchasing new pool furniture. It is also time for the
shrubbery around the pool to be redone and possibly replaced. The work will be done over the
Hope you will all enjoy the improvements!
